Playbill | Sutton Foster Talks Taking on Charity

Photo by Laura Marie DuncanBy now, Sutton Foster has put her spin on dozens of roles. From creating women like Millie Dillmount and Janet Van De Graaff to bringing life characters like Jo March and Princess Fiona, from her own takes on iconic women like Queenie and Reno Sweeney, Foster brings bravado, humor and often an endearing quirkiness to her characters—not to mention her powerhouse vocals and pristine dance technique. It’s no surprise that audiences can’t wait to see Foster take on Sweet Charity with the New Group come November 2.
“I’m super excited and super scared,” says Foster at a press event to promote the third season of her hit TVLand show Younger. “I like to do things that scare me, and I like to do things that push me and make me grow, and this is one of them. It’ll be a lot of flop-sweat and probably a lot of tears, so it will be all out there.”
