Age is just a number. At least that’s the motto of Sutton Foster, who stars as Liza on the TV Land series Younger. At 43, the actress portrays a 40-year-old divorcee who shaves more than a decade off her age so she can snag a job in the millennial-centric world of publishing. But while she’s having a blast reliving her youth on screen, Foster wouldn’t dare tiptoe back in time. “My life, in my opinion, has never been better. I’m super excited about what’s ahead,” she says.
Not only is the two-time Tony Award-winning actress enjoying her detour from Broadway into the world of television, she’s loving her latest role as mom to 15-month-old Emily, who she and screenwriter husband Ted Griffin adopted last year.
Parade caught up with Foster to discuss switching from stage to TV, waiting till her 40s to become a mother and finding beauty in embracing her imperfections.
